A significant upgrade to ChatGPT Voice with the introduction of GPT-Live-1, offering real-time listening and speaking for more natural interactions. This new experience, powered by GPT-Live-1 (paid) and GPT-Live-1 mini (free), includes web search, memory, and visual results for multimodal conversations. Its rollout covers all consumer plans on chatgpt.com and mobile apps, excluding Business, Enterprise, and Edu workspaces at launch. Video and screen sharing capabilities are not supported by GPT-Live-1, with Advanced Voice Mode remaining available for those features.

  • We’re rolling out a new ChatGPT Voice experience. ChatGPT Voice is now powered by GPT-Live-1 for paid users and GPT-Live-1 mini for Free users. Both models can listen and speak at the same time, making turn-taking and interruptions feel more natural. GPT-Live-1 works inside a ChatGPT chat, with spoken responses appearing alongside streamed text. It can use web search and memory, show visual results through supported widgets, and work with text and images in the same conversation. GPT-Live-1 is rolling out across consumer plans, including Free, on chatgpt.com and the ChatGPT iOS and Android apps in supported regions. It is not available in ChatGPT Business, Enterprise, or Edu workspaces at launch. GPT-Live-1 does not support video or screen sharing at this time; eligible subscribers can continue using those capabilities with Advanced Voice Mode.
