Model Drops

Every AI model release,
the moment it drops.

Follow the labs, families and models you actually use. Model Drops tracks every release from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, Meta, xAI, DeepSeek, Qwen and 30 more labs, predicts when the next one lands, and shows you how they benchmark.

FAQ

Model Drops FAQ

How does Model Drops predict the next release date?+
It reads each model's own release history — how long that line usually goes between versions, weighted toward its recent pace — and projects the next one. Every prediction shows the confidence and the number of releases it was computed from. They are cadence estimates, not announcements: no provider publishes a roadmap.
Which providers does Model Drops track?+
Anthropic, OpenAI, Google DeepMind, Meta AI, xAI, DeepSeek, Alibaba Qwen, Mistral AI, Moonshot AI, Z.AI, Amazon, Microsoft and more — 36 providers in total, covering closed and open-weight models.
Where does the model data come from?+
Public model catalogs, cross-referenced so a release date confirmed by two independent sources is marked as such. Benchmark scores come from public leaderboards and from providers' own announcements, which are labelled separately because they routinely disagree.
Can I follow just one model instead of a whole provider?+
Yes. You can follow a provider (everything it ships, including models that don't exist yet), a single model like Claude Opus, or one specific version. Notifications follow whichever level you picked.
Is Model Drops affiliated with any of these providers?+
No. Model Drops is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of the providers it tracks.
