This release introduces dedicated ChatGPT workspaces for academic research teams, providing complimentary 12-month access for up to five faculty or postdoctoral members with enhanced data protections. It streamlines collaborative research by offering a secure, Pro-level environment. Additionally, 'Sign in with ChatGPT' is now rolling out to key plugins and partner sites, including Airtable and Notion, simplifying account creation and linking with supported services. This update enhances both secure academic collaboration and user convenience across integrated platforms.

  • ChatGPT for Academic Researchers
  • Research rarely happens alone. ChatGPT for Academic Researchers gives faculty and postdoctoral researchers the ability to apply for 12 months of complimentary access to a dedicated ChatGPT workspace for a small, verified team. Each workspace supports up to five members and includes business data protections and ChatGPT Pro-level usage limits, helping researchers collaborate while keeping team research in its own workspace. To apply, researchers sign in with an institutional email, verify their affiliation through SheerID, and share a qualifying paper and a short description of their intended research use. Approved applicants complete a $0 checkout with a valid card, create the workspace, and can invite up to four verified collaborators from the same institution. Researchers at existing ChatGPT Edu institutions can still apply, but when approved, follow an institution-managed Edu route instead. The program covers ChatGPT access, not API credits.   • Sign in with ChatGPT
  • We’re beginning to roll out Sign in with ChatGPT across select plugins and partner sites, starting with Airtable, GitLab, HubSpot, Notion, Supabase, and Vercel.
  • When you connect a supported app from the plugin directory ChatGPT, you can use Sign in with ChatGPT to create or link an account with that service in fewer steps. On participating partner sites, you can also choose ‘Sign in with ChatGPT’ to create or access your account.
  • This means less time on account setup and an easier way to start working with these tools from ChatGPT and Codex.
  • When you sign in, only your name, email, and profile picture (if you have one) are shared with the partner. You’ll still separately review and approve the access each plugin receives.
